Mental Health Evaluations tailored for immigrants
If you’re looking at this page, wondering about scheduling a mental health evaluation to assist in your immigration process, it means you’re at the beginning or in the middle of a tough process that will have a lasting impact on your life.
Maybe you’re working on building a new life in a safe place, maybe you’re fighting to keep your family together, or maybe you’re trying to stay in the community you’ve called home for a long time.
Immigrants who provide a mental health evaluation as evidence in their case often have a stronger chance of a positive outcome.
This is where I come in. I have more than 17 years of experience providing mental health evaluations and serving clients affected by traumatic experiences.
During the entire process, I’ll work to make the evaluation easy, clear, and efficient. The end result will be a thorough and detailed report for you and your attorney.
-
An immigration mental health evaluation is a comprehensive assessment conducted by a licensed mental health professional to document the emotional and mental health factors relevant to your immigration case. These reports are often requested by attorneys to provide evidence for legal proceedings.
-
These reports provide critical evidence which educate the folks who are making the decisions on your case. You want them to know about the lasting impact of your experiences or the potential impact of having your case denied.
Mental health evaluations by a licensed mental health professional are one of the most direct ways to document the lasting impact of things like physical, relational, or community violence, exploitation, family separation, and more. They provide a succient summary of this critical information and how it affects you.
While it isn’t a guarantee, immigrants who include a mental health evaluation in their case evidence have a much greater chance of having their case approved.

The evaluation process happens in a few easy steps.
First, reach out to schedule our two interviews. Interviews last between 60 and 90 minutes each.
Once that is on the calendar, you’ll fill out some paperwork about your background. You’ll also pay the first installment of the fee.
Next, we meet for our first interview. This can be in person in Spokane, WA or over Zoom.
After our first interview, you’ll likely receive a couple of forms from me to fill out. These forms are mental health measures and help me get a clear picture of the impact of your experiences
Then we meet for our second interview. This interview is to help clarify any parts of your story and do a deeper dive into the most important parts.
Once the interviews are done, I write up your report. Typically reports are 10 pages or more. They are also tailored towards your specifc visa application.
Now that the report is written, your attorney will receive a draft copy to review.
The final report, signed by me, will be ready and sent to your attorney within 30 days of our second interview. Your second fee installment is due prior to the delivery of the final report.
That’s it! Please reach out if you have any questions about this process.
-
Yes. I regularly collaborate with attorneys to ensure my evaluations meet the specific needs of their cases and provide the strongest possible support.
-
The total fee for the entire process is $1250 and is payable via credit card, check, or cash (in-person only).
This fee includes both interviews, the report writing, and up to two revisions before final report delivery.
-
A translator can be an important tool in helping us fully capture your story. You’re encouraged to arrange for a translator if you need one for our interviews.
Please note that I strongly discourage using family members as translators as this has the potential risk of affecting what information is available for the report.
